Academic terms
NORSAR Innovation understands the importance of the role that academic institutions have to play in the development of both geophysics and geophysicists. Because of this we are happy to offer qualifying academic institutions a special academic lease that consists of the following software packages:
- SeisRoX
- NORSAR-2D
- NORSAR-3D
- VelRock
The academic lease is only available to qualifying institutions and can not be split into individual packages.
To qualify for the academic lease; an institution must only be using the license as part of its internally financed educational program. The use of the license is strictly educational, and must not be used for any other purpose whatsoever. The aim of the academic license is only to provide students access to cutting edge technology through which they can accelerate their learning.
For example; an institution who wants to integrate NORSAR software into the thesis work of its students fully financed by the institution would qualify. An institution who wants to use NORSAR software on a research project, in part funded by a third party (who as such would have rights to the results of the research) would not qualify.
If you are an educational or research institute and would like to use NORSAR software for purposes outside of scope of the academic lease, for example Ph.D. research funded by commercial partners, please contact us with an outline of your proposed project and details of previous, related work. Your proposal will be reviewed by the Research Committee at NORSAR and a decision as to whether to support your research will be made on a case by case basis.
